THE JOURNEY
The Remodel
The St. Helena house has undergone a significant transformation when it was passed over to it’s third generation. After Gee Gee and Francis passed away, the home was given to their niece, June and her husband Gene in 1975. Gene started a family with June, and raised 3 kids Jackie, Jeanne, and Phil. Once Gene and June passed away, their kids were in a pivotal moment to preserve the family home, or sell. Since our family has had so many memories at the property, we decided to do something that all of us have been wanting to do for a very long time, remodel it. From left to right, the house tells a story of its gradual transformation, preserving original elements with modern functionality, creating a space that feels both timeless and new.
What originally started out as a kitchen redo, turned into a full blown remodel. In order for us to compete with other vacation rentals around the area, we wanted to make sure we did it right. We hired some of the best architects and designers in the area and had them create the best version of the St. Helena house. The entire middle section of the house was torn apart and a new kitchen was created that still kept its’ 1800’s charm. Old carpet was removed from the 70s’ downstairs, to later find out that the carpet was just put over hardwood floor built with the house in the 1800's. A complete remodel of the upstairs bedrooms, bathrooms, porch, and exterior of the house was also done. The property remained untouched for years, never receiving any updates or renovations-until now. We are always making improvements to the St. Helena house, striving to make the St. Helena house an iconic stop for those wanting a spacious, peaceful place to stay in the Napa Valley.
